Selama kita hidup di dunia ini, pastinya tidak sedikit yang merasakan perubahan cuaca yang di rasakan saat ini, efek dari global warming atau pemanasan global yang berakibat naik nya suhu di bumi akibat penipisan lapisan ozon yang ada, sudah banyak orang membicarakan naik nya tingkat suhu di bumi ini, banyak nya bencana alam yang terjadi di berbagai belahan negeri, sebagai contoh kita ambil saja bencana di negeri sendiri baru-baru ini, banjir, gunung meletus dan juga tsunami yang pernah terjadi di Aceh, itu merupakan salah satu dampak yang terjadi karena perubahan iklim yang ada di bumi ini.

Apa yang menyebabkan perubahan iklim di dunia ini terjadi, apakah bisa berdampak buruk terhadap ekosistem yang ada di bumi, apakah benar isu tentang badai matahari yang akan terjadi di tahun 2012, semua itu akan dapat terjawab setelah kita menganalisa beberapa kejadian yang ada di muka bumi ini, memang alam ini sudah berubah dan kita pun tidak bisa memungkirinya, bila ditelusuri dari berbagai macam kejadian yang ada di belahan dunia ini, kita dapat menyimpulkan apakah benar iklim telah berubah di bumi ini, mari kita lihat kejadian apa saja yang sudah terjadi beberapa dekade ke belakang.

Bencana banjir di australia 2010 di Quensland yang menewaskan 16 orang, padam nya listrik untuk rumah penduduk yang ada, dan jebol nya tanggul-tanggul sungai yang mengakibatkan mobil yang sedang di parkir hanyut terbawa arus air,

selain itu juga perubahan musim yang terjadi di negara rusia yang pada tahun lalu mengalami cuaca panas yang sangat ekstrim yang menyebabkan kebakaran hutan, dan pemanasan global yang terjadi seperti dikutip oleh organisasi nasca.org.uk yang mengadakan penelitian di bidang perubahan iklim dan penyebab dari bencana yang mungkin saja datang tiba-tiba. Dan juga berbagai macam bencana yang di sebabkan perubahan iklim saat ini.

Lalu apa kaitannya dengan tahun 2012, bermula isu ini di sebabkan oleh karena habis nya periode waktu perhitungan kalender suku mayan, mereka percaya bahwa itu adalah akhir dunia ini berputar, lalu bagaimana kah proses yang mungkin terjadi di tahun 2012 menurut para pakar sains di bumi ini, bermula dari periode badai matahari yang diperkirakan akan terjadi nanti di tahun 2012, yang artinya pada waktu itu para peneliti science mengemukakan bahwa akan terjadi badai di permukaan matahari yang paling ektsrim atau berbahaya, tingkat radiasi atau pancaran gelombang elektro magnetik nya akan sampai ke bumi, itu menurut penelitian yang mereka lakukan, apabila itu sampai terjadi bukan tidak mungkin bahwa beberapa gejala perubahan alam akan terjadi seperti mencair nya es di kutub utara yang akan menyebabkan naik nya permukaan air laut, belum lagi bisa saja terjadi kebakaran hutan akibat radiasi gelombang panas yang ada, dan juga bencana lain nya yang di luar nalar kita.

Semua itu masih bersifat teoritis, dan semua itu adalah kehendak yang maha kuasa, namun kita sebagai manusia harus mewaspadai prediksi - prediksi yang sudah ada saat ini, dengan melihat perubahan iklim yang ada saat ini, kita bisa menilai sendiri apakah mungkin hal yang menyeramkan itu akan terjadi?

Beberapa teori dan gejala yang ada di bumi ini memang menarik untuk di ketahui, salah satunya ada isu yang berkembang di antara para peneliti UFO (Unidentify Flying Object) yang di sebut - sebut sudah memberikan warning kepada manusia tentang apa yang akan terjadi di bumi ini melalui tanda - tanda yang mereka berikan melalui pembuatan "Crop Circles" di ladang yang merupakan tanda tentang sesuatu yang akan terjadi atau gambaran mengenai sesuatu yang ada di luar sistem tata surya kita, berikut adalah contoh tanda - tanda tersebut:

Dapat dilihat pada gambar diatas, tiba-tiba fenomena crop circles tersebut bermunculan di ladang dan membentuk sebuah gambar yang dikaitkan dengan gejala yang akan berdampak pada suatu kejadian luar biasa terhadap bumi kita ini, banyak hal menyeramkan yang mungkin saja terjadi nanti, itu menurut penelitian mereka, dan mereka juga menuliskan bukan tidak mungkin gejala badai matahari tersebut disebabkan karena perubahan iklim yang terjadi karena pemanasan global di bumi, banyak faktor penyebab naik nya suhu di bumi ini, pengeluaran CO2 yang berlebihan, penggunaan bahan - bahan styrofoam yang mengakibatkan pencemaran lingkungan, belum lagi asap-asap kendaraan bermotor dan asap pabrik yang langsung terjun bebas ke langit dan mencemari lingkungan.

Lalu pertanyaan nya adalah bagaimana kita menyikapi nya, bagaimana kita bersiap untuk menghadapi kejadian menyeramkan yang mungkin saja terjadi nantinya, banyak hal yang bisa kita lakukan untuk mencegah atau setidak nya memperingan faktor-faktor perusak kondisi iklim yang ada sekarang, salah satunya adalah program penanaman satu juta pohon, dimana dengan menanam pohon kita dapat memperbaiki kondisi pelepasan gas oksigen ke udara, dan juga akan tercegah nya bahaya longsor, kemudian membuat hutan buatan yang akan membuat habitat baru bagi flora dan fauna yang ada di Indonesia, tidak menggunakan barang-barang plastik yang akan menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan, memakai produk-produk yang tidak merusak lapisan ozon dengan standar RFC, penggunaan bahan bakar mobil hybrid atau biologis, menjaga kelestarian alam sekitar dan satwa liar dengan ikut serta mengikuti program seperti WWF, kemudian hindari perusakan lingkungan seperti penebangan pohon liar.

Dengan berbagai proses diatas kita yakin setidaknya bisa mengurangi dampak bencana dan juga dapat menyelamatkan bumi kita dari bencana yang disebabkan oleh perubahan iklim sekarang ini, lalu masih percayakah anda dengan kejadian yang akan terjadi di tahun 2012 nanti? Hanya anda sendiri yang tahu jawabannya.

I still can't believe the TwitterPeek exists. It's a portable device that only does Twitter. Seriously, who the hell would spend $200 on this? Am I crazy here?

The original Peek, which just runs email, is something I would never buy in a million years. But I could understand why some people might like it. It's simple, its inexpensive, and it lets you run email without paying for a fancy smartphone plan. That's fine. Email is important and universally useful.

But this? Twitter only? Twitter is something that you can do easily on a smartphone, yes, but it's also something you can use easily on any phone. It's a service based on text messaging, for god's sake! In practice, you could use Twitter on your phone no matter what phone you have. Hell, even StarTacs supported SMS and could use Twitter, if you happen to still be using one.

Maybe they expect this to be used by people without cellphones at all? Why would anyone carry a device that does only Twitter instead of getting a basic free cellphone that can call friends and restaurants and companies with phones (all of them)?

And really, if you're so hooked on Twitter than you want to have it on you at all times, the chances are good that you're also hooked on email, IM, texts and probably the services that a few other apps would provide. This is a device built around an app, basically. The iPhone, BlackBerry, Pre, Windows Mobile, Symbian and Android all have great Twitter apps. But do they deserve their own devices? What's next, a dedicated Fieldrunners or Yelp device? How about a batman utility belt full of like 20 devices each doing the equivalent of one app, for seven bucks a month, each?

Sure, one could argue that it chooses to do one thing and to do it well, with simplicity and affordability. You could compare it to the Flip, for example, which makes shooting video easy and cheap. But the Flip does far more, for the money, and decent video isn't something you find on most smartphones. The Flip beats camcorders by doing 90% of what they do for 20% of the cost. This does 1% of what smartphones can do for 25% of the cost. It's just not a good value, despite it being cheap.

The real kicker? This thing has one single function, and it can't even do that very well. PC Mag just gave it 1.5 stars! This is totally damning:

But as soon as I started handling the TwitterPeek, I knew something was wrong. This handheld is painfully slow. Scrolling through button selections or on-screen lists, the cursor is always a bit behind your trackwheel.

TwitterPeek also fails at the most basic function: reading tweets. The main list of tweets only shows the first three and a half words of each message; to read more, you have to dig down by hitting the 'return' key. Then you can step through tweets, slowly, one by one, with the 'n' (for next) and 'p' (for previous) keys, or jump back up to the unreadable full list of truncated messages. The whole process is slow and annoying.

Not everybody wants or needs a smartphone, such as the iPhone or Droid. They're relatively expensive and cost more per month than a dumbphone. But the fact of the matter is, if you're looking to have a lot of mobile functionality, it makes way more sense to consolidate your needs on one well-designed product than to clutter up your pockets with a dumbphone, a TwitterPeek, a digital camera and a GPS unit. This is a device that is built on flawed logic and executed poorly. I can't think of a single person in a single situation where this would make sense.

I just can't believe this thing exists.

Blue ray technology is an optical disc storage medium designed to supersede the DVD format. It is well designed equipment with a very high definition video and has storage data of 50 GB per disc.

This blue ray disc stores more substantial data than the normal DVD which uses a red laser of 650nm laser. The blue ray technology is derived from the blue laser which is violet colored and is used to read and write this disc. The memory of the blue ray technology is so immense that it stores almost six times the capacity of a single DVD. This CD format is developed and designed by Sony Phillips. The blue laser is able to store much larger amount of data using the same space because of a much larger “spot size” requirement. This blue ray disc has a wavelength of 405nm and the blue violet laser uses 0.85nm wavelength pick up aperture.

The blue ray technology gym has a benefit and that is the reason it is the most marketed CD today since it is able to hold a large capacity of data. Currently HD DVD and blue ray disc are battling it out to see who will be the next creators of a new media in years to come. Blue ray technology provides clearer pictures with more color and vividness. The blue has gone a step further in looking at producing a consumer electronic market with a Sony play station. The Sony play station will include a basic blue ray DVD player which might spur sales of the media and make it the top brand.

The blue ray disc is very expensive and will have you spending more than you expected. The players sell for $1000 and DVD discs tend to be more expensive than their standard DVD counterparts. There is also another disadvantage about the blue ray disc comes in two standards, the blue ray and the HD. Blue ray has however been developed in part with Sony. Sony has included DRM or Digits Rights Management that will make it difficult for people to place shift and time shift their content.

The blue ray technology is made in three formats. The first one is BD-ROM or blue ray read only format which is used to store movies, computer games and software. The other one is the blue ray recordable or BD-R will provide users the opportunity to store larger amounts of data and HDTV recordings on one disc. This is an advantage to those individuals who record programs from their decoders at home. The third format is the BD-RE or blue ray re writeable disc format which will provide users the ability to change the disc’s content.

The Blue ray technology has a polycarbonate disc layer where the data is stored. reflective layer which reflects the laser backlight. NAGIOS on Ubuntu Jaunty

Introduction

This guide is intended to provide you with simple instructions on how to install Nagios from source (code) on Ubuntu and have it monitoring your local machine inside of 20 minutes. No advanced installation options are discussed here - just the basics that will work for 95% of users who want to get started.

These instructions were written based on an Ubuntu 6.10 (desktop) installation. They should work for an Ubuntu 7.10 and Jaunty as install well.

If you follow these instructions, here's what you'll end up with:

Nagios and the plugins will be installed underneath /usr/local/nagios
Nagios will be configured to monitor a few aspects of your local system (CPU load, disk usage, etc.)
The Nagios web interface will be accessible at http://localhost/nagios/

Required Packages

Make sure you've installed the following packages on your Ubuntu installation before continuing.

Apache 2
PHP
GCC compiler and development libraries
GD development libraries

You can use apt-get to install these packages by running the following commands:

sudo apt-get install apache2

sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5

sudo apt-get install build-essential

With Ubuntu 6.10, install the gd2 library with this command:

sudo apt-get install libgd2-dev

With Ubuntu 7.10, the gd2 library name has changed, so you'll need to use the following:

sudo apt-get install libgd2-xpm-dev

1) Create Account Information

Become the root user.

sudo -s

Create a new nagios user account and give it a password.

/usr/sbin/useradd -m -s /bin/bash nagios

passwd nagios

On older Ubuntu server editions (6.01 and earlier), you will need to also add a nagios group (it's not created by default). You should be able to skip this step on desktop, or newer server editions of Ubuntu.

/usr/sbin/groupadd nagios

/usr/sbin/usermod -G nagios nagios

Create a new nagcmd group for allowing external commands to be submitted through the web interface. Add both the nagios user and the apache user to the group.

/usr/sbin/groupadd nagcmd

/usr/sbin/usermod -a -G nagcmd nagios

/usr/sbin/usermod -a -G nagcmd www-data

2) Download Nagios and the Plugins

Create a directory for storing the downloads.

mkdir ~/downloads

cd ~/downloads

Download the source code tarballs of both Nagios and the Nagios plugins (visit http://www.nagios.org/download/ for links to the latest versions). These directions were tested with Nagios 3.1.1 and Nagios Plugins 1.4.11.

3) Compile and Install Nagios

Extract the Nagios source code tarball.

tar xzf nagios-3.1.2.tar.gz

Run the Nagios configure script, passing the name of the group you created earlier like so:

./configure --with-command-group=nagcmd

Compile the Nagios source code.

make all

Install binaries, init script, sample config files and set permissions on the external command directory.

make install

make install-init

make install-config

make install-commandmode

Don't start Nagios yet - there's still more that needs to be done...

4) Customize Configuration

Sample configuration files have now been installed in the /usr/local/nagios/etc directory. These sample files should work fine for getting started with Nagios. You'll need to make just one change before you proceed...

Edit the /usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/contacts.cfg config file with your favorite editor and change the email address associated with the nagiosadmin contact definition to the address you'd like to use for receiving alerts.

vi /usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/contacts.cfg

5) Configure the Web Interface

Install the Nagios web config file in the Apache conf.d directory.

make install-webconf

Create a nagiosadmin account for logging into the Nagios web interface. Remember the password you assign to this account - you'll need it later.

htpasswd -c /usr/local/nagios/etc/htpasswd.users nagiosadmin

Restart Apache to make the new settings take effect.

/etc/init.d/apache2 reload

Note: Consider implementing the ehanced CGI security measures described here to ensure that your web authentication credentials are not compromised.

6) Compile and Install the Nagios Plugins

Extract the Nagios plugins source code tarball.

cd ~/downloads

tar xzf nagios-plugins-1.4.11.tar.gz

cd nagios-plugins-1.4.11

Compile and install the plugins.

./configure --with-nagios-user=nagios --with-nagios-group=nagios

make

make install

7) Start Nagios

Configure Nagios to automatically start when the system boots.

ln -s /etc/init.d/nagios /etc/rcS.d/S99nagios

Verify the sample Nagios configuration files.

/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

If there are no errors, start Nagios.

/etc/init.d/nagios start

8) Login to the Web Interface

You should now be able to access the Nagios web interface at the URL below. You'll be prompted for the username (nagiosadmin) and password you specified earlier.

http://localhost/nagios/

Click on the "Service Detail" navbar link to see details of what's being monitored on your local machine. It will take a few minutes for Nagios to check all the services associated with your machine, as the checks are spread out over time.

9) Other Modifications

If you want to receive email notifications for Nagios alerts, you need to install the mailx (Postfix) package.

sudo apt-get install mailx

sudo apt-get install postfix

You'll have to edit the Nagios email notification commands found in /usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/commands.cfg and change any '/bin/mail' references to '/usr/bin/mail'. Once you do that you'll need to restart Nagios to make the configuration changes live.

sudo /etc/init.d/nagios restart

CMA Music Festival 2009

Last week was the biggest week of the year for the Country Music Association, as it celebrated its annual country music love-in here in Music City USA, Nashville, Tenn.

The CMA Music Festival is the annual four-day extravaganza devoted to giving country music diehards the ultimate fan experience – everything from star-studded stadium concerts to up-close encounters with their favorite celebrities.

And all week long, just about everywhere you looked there were country music stars and celebrities toting around and playing their favorite Gibson and Epiphone guitars! They were at the free outdoor performances by the Oak Ridge Boys, Gretchen Wilson, Jo Dee Messina and Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers; and at the Nashville Convention Center for the Greased Lightning Fan Fair Hall, where chart-topping stars like Taylor Swift, Montgomery Gentry, Reba McEntire and Razzy Bailey, along with rising up-and-comers Joey + Rory and Veronica Ballestrini, appeared at exhibitor booths to sign autographs and pose for photos with fans.

As if that was wasn’t enough, Sunday night’s marathon closing-night concert over at LP Field included Taylor Swift, Montgomery Gentry, Jack Ingram, John Rich, Kenny Chesney, Heidi Newfield, a surprise appearance by Sugarland, and the hardest-working women in country music, Miranda Lambert. And for most of the night, just about every guitar on stage was either a Gibson or Epiphone.

Fedora is a distribution of Linux designed to provide access to the latest open source and free software in a form that's stable, easy to manage, and secure. The biggest of the Fedora Project's offerings, Fedora's mission is to lead the advancement of free and open source content. Fedora tries to lead, rather than following, and is seeking to improve and spread free code and content. On June 9, only six months after the release of Fedora 10, Fedora 11 has come onto the scene. Here's a look at some of the major features of this version of the distribution.

If you're installing Fedora on your computer, or just trying it out, you'll probably be working from a LiveCD - now the standard method of distributing Linux based operating systems. Fedora 10 was notorious for its long boot times, and 11 attempts to solve this problem. One listed feature for this distribution is a startup (to the login screen) in twenty seconds or less, with as little time used as possible after login, too. This does mean that the menus and graphics aren't as pretty as previous versions, but the short boot time makes up for this.

Standard applications come pre-installed, and the process of actually installing Fedora 11 is streamlined and straight forward. It takes around three to five minutes to install Fedora 11 on most computers, and reboot speed is so quick that you might think something has gone wrong. You'll be prompted for new user information and go from starting the install to having access to your desktop in a little less than ten minutes all told.

You'll get a number of installation options when putting Fedora on your machine, including use of existing partitions, the ability to format all data and use the whole disk, or to install the system alongside one already on your hard disk. EXT4 formatting is the default, and the process, even when formatting the whole disk, is extremely quick. This is one of the speediest, most responsive operating systems available.

You can choose from one of two major desktop environments as a default: KDE and GNOME, both of which have their followings. Both installs are contained in the same disk image, making it extremely simple to use the one you prefer. GNOME is known for its focus on simplicity, user friendliness and usability, and is usually the preferred desktop environment for people who are just switching from Windows machines.

KDE is the more popular environment, and is used by about 65% of Linux users. It is preferred by those users for its more complete help files and greater level of customizability. Easier alteration of the splash screen and a desktop wide spellcheck function are also considered desirable features in KDE.

For something a lot more lightweight, you can also choose to download a custom spin featuring a well integrated, complete version of the Xfce desktop instead. This is a very stable, non resource intensive environment that requires a little more expertise to use then either KDE or GNOME, but works better on older hardware and provides a faster experience.

Other custom spins available for Fedora 11 include a Games spin (for both 32 bit and 64 bit architectures), the AOS spin - a scaled down version of Fedora that can be run on an appliance, Fedora Electronic Lab (for high end hardware design and simulation), a spin localized for Brazilian Portuguese and a spin meant mostly for educational and scientific use which include special applications for these particular topics.

Security is another important concern for Fedora, so a number of features focus on it. From optional fingerprint authentication on boot to mandatory access control, this distribution is much more secure than many others, and has debuted many security features that have become standard on other Linux flavors.

To reach your desktop after install, you'll need to log in. You'll also be asked to submit hardware profile information to the development team to help with bug fixing and later development. Once that's done, you'll notice that Fedora 11 has new wallpaper, but the same theme as the previous version. Some will approve of this, while others will wish there's been more visible change. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of visual modifications accessible right out of the box, as Fedora 11 doesn't come with the Compiz Settings Manager pre-installed. Enabling proprietary video drivers is also a little more difficult than with some other distributions, but it's not extremely troublesome.

The most popular applications are included by default in some of their most up to date forms, includeing Firefox 3.5 Beta and Thunderbird 3 Beta. OpenOffice.org is not present, as the default in Fedora is still Abiword, which works for most basic work processing tasks and is currently compatible with the newest Microsoft formats. For other software, it's relatively simple to use the package manager to install without a hitch.

While the changes made in this release have been relatively limited, it's still a significant improvement over Fedora 10, particularly with the speed increases. It can describe an intense feeling of affection, an emotion or an emotional state. In ordinary use, it usually refers to interpersonal love. Probably due to its psychological relevance, love is one of the most common themes in art and music.
Expressions of love may include the love for a "soul" or mind, the love of laws and organizations, love for a body, love for nature, love of food, love of money, love for learning, love of power, love of fame, love for the respect of others, etcetera. Different people place varying degrees of importance on the kinds of love they receive. According to many philosophers, the only goal of life is to be happy. And there is only one happiness in life: to love and be loved. Love is essentially an abstract concept, much easier to experience than to explain.

Love styles

Susan Hendrick and Clyde Hendrick developed a Loves Attitude Scale based on John Alan Lee's theory called Love styles. Lee identified six basic theories that people use in their interpersonal relationships:

Eros (love) — a passionate physical love based on physical appearance
Ludus — love is played as a game; love is playful
Storge — an affectionate love that slowly develops, based on similarity
Pragma — pragmatic love
Mania — highly emotional love; unstable; the stereotype of romantic love
Agape — selfless altruistic love; spiritual

Hendrick and Hendrick found men tend to be more ludic and manic, whereas women tend to be storgic and pragmatic. Relationships based on similar love styles were found to last longer. In 2007, researchers from the University of Pavia led by Dr Enzo Emanuele have provided evidence of a genetic basis for individual variations in Lee's loving styles, with Eros being linked to the dopamine system and Mania to the serotonin system^[8]
